November Book Haul

‘Tis the season for restraint! And I’m restraining, let me tell you. Honestly, it hasn’t been that hard, especially when I think about transporting any new books across the country. No, thank you. I did buy three, though.

I adore this series so much that adding them to my library wasn’t going to be something I wasn’t going to do. Plus, I wanted the next book in the series for this season, SLASHING THROUGH THE SNOW. I ended up buying book four because why not? See? There’s that little impulse part of me. But again, I know I’m keeping these so I’m not stressed about it.

Plus you’ll see that they’re the only three physical copies I bought. RESTRAINT.

How about eBooks?

The elephantine restraint of a book addict. Just four this month. FOUR. I’m super proud of myself.

I’m continuing to sort through my TBR list and want list. I actually reduced by want list by about half, dropping it under 200 books. I’ve removed about 500 books from my TBR pile, most of those physical copies so far. So I’m making headway. It’s actually nice to purge a lot of that older stuff that struck me in the moment, so I bought it. But that moment passed and now when I read the blurb I’m like eh. Life’s too short to read books that are only doing it like eh for me.

Plus that’s another reason to keep my TBR smaller and more manageable. The books stay relevant to my tastes, especially since I’m a mood reader. The faster I can get to them based on that taste, the better they’ll hit and the less likely I’ll lose interest in them. I’m not that fast of a reader, but managing a TBR pile of maybe 500 books is waaaaaaaayyyyyy better than closer to 1500 books. IMO.
